USPAE and IPC hosted an interactive session at APEX on March 19 to begin shaping this initiative and drive action on DIB priorities. Industry participants spoke candidly about the gaps and how they impact the defense industry, national security and economic livelihoods.
Here are the topics that informed the initial discussion:
- Identify and close critical technology gaps;
- Reduce single-source vulnerabilities in the supply chain;
- Align industry voices for greater impact; and
- Advocate for policies that strengthen domestic manufacturing.
As a next step, USPAE and IPC are analyzing the detailed meeting notes to develop a draft statement of industry priorities. We plan to circulate this document by the end of this week for your review and input. In putting this together, we aspire to (1) accurately capture the feedback we received, (2) identify areas where more information is needed and (3) provoke discussion that leads to clarity.
We encourage you to be heard and be part of the solution.
